January 18, 2012

Dear Parents,

The Board of Directors is very pleased to inform you that we elected new leadership during our January 17, 2012 meeting.

The Board elected Plack Carr to serve as Chairperson-Plack Carr, Nancy Mulford, Cullum Clark, and Ken SchnitzerElect and Ken Schnitzer to serve as Vice Chairperson-Elect. The new Chairperson-Elect and Vice Chairperson-Elect will prepare to assume their official roles beginning June 2012. These newly elected leaders are genuinely devoted to the mission of the Episcopal School of Dallas and are excited to lead the school during such an important time in our history. I look forward to working with Plack and Ken to transition leadership duties and key initiatives and programs over the next several months.

Our Chairperson-Elect, Plack Carr, has a deep commitment and devotion to the Episcopal School of Dallas. He has grandchildren in the 6th and 8th grade at our school. Plack is a distinguished and accomplished member of our community whose extensive background includes years of volunteer positions with local and statewide foundations and boards. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Southwestern Medical Foundation. The Board looks forward to the direction and guidance from such a humble and capable leader.

We are equally as excited to have Ken Schnitzer serve as our Vice Chairperson-Elect. Ken has a daughter in 7th grade at the Episcopal School of Dallas and serves on several Board committees. He is a notable member of the Dallas business community and supports numerous charitable organizations. Ken also serves on the Board of the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the Baylor Health Care System Foundation.

The Board is also pleased to share we have selected Nancy Perot Mulford and Cullum Clark to serve as Co-Chairs of the Search Committee for our next Head of School. As this formal process begins immediately, Nancy and Cullum will continue to keep you informed and look forward to your involvement and input.

Nancy has an enduring commitment to the school having previously served on the Board committee that drafted the mission statement for our school. She has a son in the 5th grade and three older boys who attended ESD as well.   Nancy has also served on the search committees for Vanderbilt’s Chancellor and Hockaday’s Head of School. Cullum serves on various Board committees and has three children at the Episcopal School of Dallas in 3rd, 7th and 9th grade. Most recently, Cullum led a task force that developed the strategic long-term plan to advance the mission of our school well into the future.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Laura Boeckman and her committee for managing the nominating process. We have a remarkable group of individuals whose talents and dedication will advance the mission and vision of the Episcopal School of Dallas into the Post Founding Era.

Thank you for your support of our new leadership and the Episcopal School of Dallas.

Sincerely,

John Eagle

Chairman
